A: THE "ZENITH" ROCKING STOOL Zenith is an innovative stool for both children and adults. The user can sit astride the stool as well as in a conventional position. Thus, apart from allowing a free and open hip-angle, the stool also encourages a healthy spinal posture. Zenith has been designed for use at work, at home and in schools - in fact in any situation in which people have sedentary work. Zenith is stackable and is available in five sizes. B: THE "JAMES" STACKING STOOL Classical, sturdy and easy to produce. Covering to choice. |

PLAY FURNITURE FOR CHILDREN Children play, act out their fantasies and are in constant movement. Children grow. Children sit in chairs for only a few minutes at a time and use furniture in a completely different way from adults. With all this in mind, I have designed a set of furniture consisting of six stools in different sizes. They can be put together horizontally and vertically in various. This furniture appeals to the imagination and to creativity and encourages children to create order from chaos. The set consists of six stress-formed shells in beech veneer. They vary in height between 25 and 30 cm. |

DISK - DESK AND MEETING TABLE The importance attached to ergonomics in today's work environment, together with the dominance of the computer screen, has created a need for workstations with unprecedented built-in flexibility. The individual must have the freedom to rearrange his or her workplace many times during the day. Partly to change posture and avoid physically harmful routines and partly to accomodate varying work tasks. The DISK table, developed for B.C. Inventar A/S, meets this need and, with its circular shape, functions both as a desk and as a meeting table. |

CHAIR A chair in which the seat/back are of glued elm staves. (The seat and/or back are usually laminated, steam-formed or curved.) The staves in the seat are identical, except that the edges of the two outer staves are bevelled. The staves in the back are also identical, with no bevelling. Because of the irregular graining of elm and the resultant risk of splits in the wood when the chair is used, the number of elements has been kept to a minimum. This property is important, as there is nothing to hold the staves together transversely. The problem is probably most marked in the back, as the metal underframe provides cross-bracing for the seat. |

THINGUMMYJIG TABLE Thingummyjigs have minds of their own. They come and go as they please. They hide in the strangest places and quite simply vanish. Thingummyjigs are too small to be categorised and organised into systems. They should preferably be both neatly stowed away and to hand at one and the same time. They range from tiny useless things to utensils, objets d'art and our dearest possessions. They are an important part of most people's lives. |

"FLYING FLOAT" - DECKCHAIR WITH ADJUSTABLE BACK Plinth and back are plywood frames covered in a "skin" of thin, springy aeroplane veneer. The armrests in tubular stainless steel separate the movable back from the plinth. The armrests and back are adjusted with a simple push-pull system with four friction wheels. If the armrests/back are moved forward, the more horizontal angle results in a comparatively upright, steep angle for the back that matches the short, armchair-like sitting position. When the armrests/back are moved back, the seat becomes deeper and the angle of the back shallower. The system thus allows adjustment of the chair to individual needs. |

A. TABLE WITH STEEL LEGS The table legs are made from steel plate that is laser-cut and then closed to produce a three-dimensional shape. This simple production method achieves both volume and strength. The tabletop has a maple veneer and the legs are attached directly to the top's undersurface. Sponsors: Sørvad Møbelfabrik A/S and M. Graversens Metalvarefabrik A/S B. FOLDING STOOLThe stool consists of two stress-formed ash elements. These elements are "forked" together to form a V. The "V" is then fitted with a seat in black leather and kept in shape by a stress-formed wooden element. This is an informal piece of furniture, an extra leg - a stick. It can be used as a support in situations in which you look, listen, converse - when you move from one place to another, or when the task you are performing requires you to alternate between sitting and standing. |

"GRANDLIT" BED What do you expect of your bed? A comfortable lying position, naturally. After all, you spend a considerable proportion of your life in it. Yes, but: does achieving that comfort mean that your bed has to be a heavy, immovable object? There is no need to try out "Grandlit"! It is just as comfortable as other good beds. Instead, consider its aesthetic qualities. And its flexibility. For example, the table and two back supports can be placed anywhere around the bed. And the two wheels make "Grandlit" very easy to move around.

SIDE TABLE The table has been designed for domestic use. It can serve as a side-table to a sofa, a favourite armchair or your bed - or placed wherever a small table is needed. With its simple shape, it is usable anywhere and its size makes it easy to move around. You can put your newspaper or book on the round shelf. The table can be used alone or combined with others, as shown here - for example, to make a large coffee table. |

A: "WARMLINE" DOORHANDLE In the modern world, door handles are either made from cold steel or inferior plastic. The "Warmline" doorhandle takes us back to the warm, touch-friendly characteristics of wood. With today's stress-forming techniques and CNC milling systems, the door handle can be produced at competitive prices. B: "VIVO" STACKING CHAIRA piece of flat spring steel is cut through the back-leg frame and joined under the seat to the front legs - a very simple chair frame. Three elliptical upholstered shells in steadily smaller sizes are mounted on the flat spring steel, which thus functions as a flexible backbone. VIVO is a living chair that gives the sitter excellent back support. C: OMEGA FREESWINGERThe stressed spring-steel frame bears the leather-clad seat/armrest shell. The leather-clad back shell is mounted in the seat with a built-in spring mechanism. Leather cushions in the seat and for the small of the back completes this exclusive conference/visitor's chair. The structure has been designed to provide mobility and comfort that make even long meetings a pleasure. |

"SLOW CHAIR" ARMCHAIR This chair is an experiment in creating an armchair with a harmony and comfort that speak to our innermost "sitting feelings". It is also an attempt to create a "cousin" for our earlier "Suppose" chair, with a character derived from precompressed wooden staves. In this new chair, we have come close to the limit to what can be achieved with precompressed staves, as it is difficult to find wood suitable for pre-compression in these lengths. I have tried to make the back a supporting surface that also gives to accommodate the body's shape. It is a structure that results in a lightweight chair. |

FURNITURE/RADIATOR SYSTEM It has often proved difficult to fit radiators neatly into large spaces such as lobbies, traffic terminals and auditoria. And the conventional wall-hung radiators also look out of place in kitchens and bathrooms. This system has been designed for use in such locations. The basic element is a stainless radiator element to which, with the help of simple components, various types of furniture can be attached - benches, tables, notice boards, mirrors. |

DOUBLE-WOVEN CARPET The double-woven carpet is made from pure new wool. The carpet has been designed to produce an asymmetrical colour effect. Depending on the size needed, sowing results in this striped effect being achieved across the carpet or along its length. For example, a 2 X 3 m carpet will have transverse stripes and a 3 x 4 m carpet will have longitudinal stripes. The hand-woven braiding in 10 standard colours permits the carpet's appearance to be varied in countless ways and allows it to be adjusted to the specific requirement. |

SAKE - FOUR CHAIRS AND A TABLE A furniture concept for the kitchen or bar, inspired by the Japanese flag. The concept consists of four chairs and a table. The idea is for people to sit at the table, close to each other, with the bowl as the focal point. The table and chairs do not occupy much space in a small kitchen or bar. The red ring is used as embedded rings and spheres in the chairs and as a bowl in the table. |

"JOSEPHINE" AND A TABLE The relationship between chair and table: The chair and the table are two pieces of furniture with widely differing functions, but they often form a group. The table is the gathering point, formalising the meeting that is represented by the chairs. The chair is an extension of the body and, as such, can be seen as a symbol of the individual. When table and chair are put together, they tell their own story of togetherness, rules and traditions. We wanted the table and the chairs to reinforce and emphasise each other, as well as functioning individually. It was therefore important to us for each to be designed with the other in mind - for them to be integrated - without either sacrificing its "independence". |

DOGMA PROJECT - VERSION 1: CHAIR WITH DRAWERS A chair with drawers, in maple. An interpretation of the archetypal "cubic chair", in which the upholstery is replaced by useful drawers that make use of every single cubic centimetre. As a result, the chair provides entirely new possibilities in relation to the accessibility of things in small spaces. DOGMA PROJECT - VERSION 2: PLAITED CHAIR IN PRE-COMPRESSED BEECHAn interpretation of the archetypal "cubic chair", in which the upholstery is replaced by a characterful, light structure. An attempt to optimise the pre-compression technique's environmental benefits: low-tech manufacture, without glue, screws or other "foreign" components. DOGMA PROJECT - VERSION 3: SPRUNG CHAIR IN COPPER-PLATED STEEL MESHAn interpretation of the archetypal "cubic chair", in which the upholstery is replaced by a sprung structure. The chair's intricate transparency and mobile volatility will create an exciting relationship with its surroundings. |

MULTIFUNCTIONAL FURNITURE The design of the furniture I present here has been inspired by ancient Egyptian chairs. One of the things I find fascinating about the furniture of ancient Egypt is the many examples of very special shaping they used when they were designing the seats of their chairs. Examples from that time have seats made from wood but that seem to be pieces of cloth attached to the four corners of the chair. This characteristic was apparently meaningful for them, as it must have been rather difficult to achieve this effect. The seat forms a double-bend bowl shape, as though it held an enormous, heavy sphere. In this way, the seat expresses its being - that it is a container. Both inviting because of its open shape and descriptive of its purpose. I have tried to use this to design a small set of furniture consisting of a stool and a larger seat that can accommodate several people. Both can also be used as low tables. These pieces of furniture are suitable for both private homes and semi-official waiting rooms, at places such as museums, where the larger seat can be used to take a much-needed rest. |

CHAIR The chair's sitting surface consists of 12 spindles in an ellipse around the central point. Four more spindles have been used for the legs, making 16 in all. The chair has been inspired by the classical spindleback chair, but the aim has been to innovate, in terms of both structure and character. It is stackable in stacks of approx. four chairs. |
